Jack Farrell started the inning off right when he laced a base-hit. After an out was recorded, John Harkins then threw a pitch that the catcher muffed. Barney Gilligan then reached on an error. Charley Bassett was up next and he reached on an error scoring a run. Harkins then threw one that got by the catcher for a passed ball. Paul Radford extended the rally and hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. Cleveland threatened in the 9th but Providence was able to put down the rally.
