Tim Keefe mowed down 10 Louisville batters as the New York Metropolitans
rallied impressively to win in dramatic style over Louisville Eclipse, 5 to
3.

New York had the winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs on 2 base hits.
Chief Roseman kicked off the action when he banged out a single. Dave Orr
stepped up to the plate and he lined a one-base hit. After an out was
recorded, Bill Holbert then reached on an error which brought home a run.
Guy Hecker then threw one that got by the catcher for a passed ball bringing
in another run. Ed Kennedy came up to bat and worked the squeeze play to
perfection scoring the final run of the inning. Both teams ended up with 6
hits on the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Keefe(27-14) who allowed 3 runs for the game.
Hecker(43-15) ended up with the loss. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 9
innings and not allowing an earned run.

Louisville's manager was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm
not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure New York's manager will be glad
to talk about the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
