Pirates defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 16 to 9 at Exposition
Park.

Pittsburg jumped on top of Philadelphia in the 7th inning as they scored 2
runs on 3 base hits.  Pittsburg bats were very productive in the 8th inning
when they had 7 runs on 6 hits.  Despite scoring in 5 separate innings,
Philadelphia could not get the win.  

Red Ehret(18-14) picked up the victory, allowing 9 runs in 8 innings. Lou
Johnson(0-1) took the loss.  He allowed 19 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
