Con Lucid tossed a complete game and Jack Boyle had 3 base hits at Boundary
Field where the red-hot Philadelphia Phillies beat the dreadful Washington
Senators 5 to 1.

Philadelphia had 3 runs cross the plate in the top of the 3rd inning.  That
early scoring was all that Lucid(18-7) needed.  Philadelphia rapped out 10
hits for the afternoon.  

Win Mercer(12-18) was charged with the loss.  He pitched 9 innings giving up
10 hits and 2 walks.For Philadelphia, it was just another victory in their
mounting winning streak.
