Shoeless Joe Jackson smacked 2 triples and scored 3 times as the Boston-AL Red
Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers by the score of 6 to 2 at Huntington Ave
Grnds.
Boston-AL took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring 2
runs. After an out was recorded, Mike Mowrey started the attack as he drew a
walk. Rube Ellis next to the plate and he drew a walk. Jim Delahanty then
drew a walk to load the bases. Roy Hartzell followed and he hit a single
plating two runs. Boston-AL had a total of 11 hits for the game.
Bill Schardt(1-3) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Fred
Olmstead earned his 1st save. The losing pitcher was Earl Hamilton(6-14).
