Boardwalk Brown was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Boston-AL Red Sox defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the
score of 5 to 3 at Huntington Ave Grnds.

Boston-AL brought 3 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning when
they had 3 base hits. Bob Fisher opened up the inning nicely when he
delivered a single. Brown came next and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Max
Carey then tripled resulting in a run. Duffy Lewis followed next and he
lined a single driving in another run. Lewis was safe at second on a stolen
base. Shoeless Joe Jackson kept things alive and was walked intentionally.
Jack Fournier stepped up to the plate and he reached on an error. George
Gibson then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. That
early run support was enough for Brown(5-9) and Boston-AL. After the 2nd
inning, neither team was able to score.

Cy Morgan(5-5) was given the loss. He allowed 5 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings.
Wth the win Boston-AL now has a record of 59-74. Pittsburgh has a record of
71-74 after the loss.
