Gus Weyhing carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning at Eastern Park as the
Brooklyn Ward's Wonders beat the Boston Reds by the count of 10 to
9.

Weyhing(21-22) pitched a fine game. He was reached for 8 hits and 5 walks in
9 innings. The right-handed Weyhing had his no-hit bid broken up by Harry
Stovey who homered with one out in the 6th inning. Boston threatened in the
9th but Brooklyn was able to put down the rally.

Bill Daley(17-7) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving
up 8 runs in 7 innings. 'He gutted it out' John Monte Ward said of Weyhing.
'I was very impressed by his tenacity.'
