At Huntington Ave Grnds the Pittsburgh Pirates easily handled the Boston-AL
Americans by the score of 9 to 5.
Pittsburgh scored the winning runs in the top of the 8th inning scoring 4
runners on 2 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Jimmy Sebring who
quieted the home crowd when he belted a three-run homer. Both teams finished
the game with 10 hits.
Lefty Leifield(6-2) allowed no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Joe McGinnity(12-16) absorbed the loss in relief. He gave up 5 runs
in 3 and 1/3 innings of work.
