Solly Hofman hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI and Orval Overall went 9 strong
innings at Palace Of The Fans as the powerful Chicago Cubs beat the
Cincinnati Reds by the count of 8 to 3.

Cincinnati was unable to claim the lead after Chicago went ahead in the top of
the 6th inning plating 2 runs on 2 hits.  Frank Chance led off and keyed the
rally when he drew a walk.  Harry Steinfeldt followed and he hit a single.
Steinfeldt took second on the throw.  Hofman then doubled knocking home two
runners.  Chicago rapped out 13 hits for the afternoon.  

Overall(17-13) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. Bob Ewing(15-9)
was charged with the loss.  He allowed Chicago 8 runs in 7 innings of work.
