The indomitable Chicago-NL Cubs toppled the St. Louis-AL Browns by a 7 to 3
score at Sportsman'S Park.

Chicago-NL tallied 6 runs in the top of the 4th inning when they came up with
7 base hits.  They would hold up as the winning runs.  Chicago-NL had 12 hits
for the afternoon while St. Louis-AL had 8.  

The victory was credited to Ed Willett(15-8) who went 8 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 3 runs. Sailor Stroud(1-7) was hit with the loss.  He allowed 9 hits
and 2 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
