Nap Rucker allowed Brian Capsello to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and third baseman Larry Gardner had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the New York-NL
Giants defeated the Washington Nationals in 10 innings 4 to 3 at American
League Park.

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings.  New York-NL ended up
winning it in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Rucker got things
going when he stroked a single.  Miller Huggins stepped into the batter's box
and he doubled.  Gardner then laced a one-base hit which was good for two
runs.  New York-NL had a total of 11 hits for the game.  

Rucker(13-13) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 3 runs. Hooks
Wiltse(4-11) was the loser in relief.  He allowed 2 runs and 4 hits in 2
innings.
