George Hall slammed 2 homeruns and scored 3 times and Lon Knight was able to
finish what he started and was credited with a complete game at Jefferson St
Grounds where the Philadelphia Athletics beat the floundering Cincinnati Reds
13 to 9.

Hall had a good day at the plate.  He ripped a solo home run in the 1st inning
and cracked a solo homerun in the 3rd inning.  Cincinnati threatened in the
9th but Philadelphia was able to put down the rally.  

The victory went to Knight(9-22) who went the distance allowing 9 runs. Dory
Dean(2-18) was charged with the loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering 13
runs in 8 innings.
