John McGraw had 6 hits and scored 4 times and Frank Kitson completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New York
Giants in 13 innings 14 to 12 at Polo Grounds.
The score was tied at 10 after nine. Finally, Baltimore prevailed in the 13th
inning. Baltimore provided plenty of action in the 5th inning with 5 runs on
6 hits and the 13th inning which saw them score 4 runs on 4 hits. Baltimore
had a total of 27 hits for the game.
The win was credited to Kitson(7-1) who went the whole way allowing 12 runs.
The losing pitcher was Charlie Gettig(4-5) in relief. He was unable to
control the Baltimore offense and allowed 6 hits and 3 walks in 3 innings.
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Kitson said.
