Bris Lord had 2 base hits and 5 RBI and Frank Corridon allowed Andy Spector to
rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at American League Park as the
Philadelphia-AL Athletics, running on all cylinders, ripped the Washington
Nationals by a large 12 to 2 margin.

Lord enjoyed a big day at the plate. He doubled emptying the bases in the 2nd
inning and stroked a one-base hit resulting in a run in the 8th inning.
Philadelphia-AL banged out 17 hits on the afternoon.  

Corridon(11-7) lasted until the end allowing 2 runs for the win. Long Tom
Hughes(11-13) was the loser.  He gave up 10 runs in 4 innings of work.
