Harry Howell completed the game without help from the bullpen and Harry
Steinfeldt had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the indomitable St. Louis-AL Browns really
laid it on the lifeless Boston-AL Americans 12 to 2.

St. Louis-AL set the tone of the game in the first inning plating an isolated
run. After an out was recorded, Spike Shannon reached on an error. Shannon
swiped second base. One out later, Steinfeldt then stroked a base-hit
scoring the run. St. Louis-AL managed 19 hits in their victory.

Howell(17-7), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Joe
McGinnity(7-19) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 6 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
