WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Admiral Schlei blocked the plate, saving a run!

Admiral Schlei had 3 base hits as the strong Philadelphia-NL Phillies
outscored the Washington Nationals 13 to 12.

Three Finger Brown(23-11) delivered a fine performance for Philadelphia-NL.
He went 5 innings surrendering 4 hits and 1 walk. Washington tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Louis Leroy got the save, his 28th. Big Jeff Pfeffer(5-14) was the loser. He
was not very effective, surrendering 10 runs in 5 innings.

When questioned about the loss, Gordon Renaud said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there this afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it
done this time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the
smiles.'
