The game was decided in the 9th inning. Al Schweitzer reached on an error. Hobe Ferris followed next and he slapped a base-hit. Bobby Wallace then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Jimmy Williams stepped in and he laced a single making St. Louis the winners and sending the 7,490 fans home happy. Although they lost, Detroit did out-hit St. Louis 10 to 4. Bill Bailey(10-6) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Ed Summers(8-14) was charged with the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game. Wth the win St. Louis now has a record of 73-58. With the loss Detroit now has a record of 60-70.
