The Cleveland Naps defeated the Detroit Tigers by a score of 6 to 3 at Bennett
Park.
George Kahler(3-4) delivered a fine performance for Cleveland. He was reached
for 9 hits and 1 walk in 8 and 2/3 innings dropping his ERA from 3.24 to
2.91. Detroit had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
Cy Falkenberg preserved the game for Kahler, recording his his 1st save. Art
Loudell(0-2) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 5 runs and 8 hits in 6 and
1/3 innings.
Detroit's manager was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is
really hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it
is easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just
barely get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
