It was a great finish at Redland Field as the Cincinnati Reds pulled off a
dramatic comeback beating the New York-NL Giants by the count of 8 to
7.

Cincinnati came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Gus Williams opened up the scoring
as he smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'. Josh Devore followed and he drew a
walk. Devore got a great jump and stole second easily. Harry Hooper came up
and he laced a single scoring another run. Hooper took second on the throw.
After another out, Tommy Clarke came to bat and doubled making Cincinnati the
winners and sending the 3,196 fans home happy. Cincinnati banged out 13 hits
on the afternoon.

Babe Adams(9-8) allowed 1 run in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Jack
Powell(7-14) was the loser in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning and
surrendered 2 hits and no walks.

Rob Hickok was ebullient after the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game
like that. Our guys just weren't going to be denied. And did you see the
fans - they were going wild! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this afternoon!'
