Billy Cox had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Vern Bickford pitched a complete game at
Sportsman's Park as the New York Yankees belted the St. Louis Cardinals by
the count of 13 to 1.
Cox provided the offensive punch. He tripled bringing in a run in the 2nd
inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, slapped a base-hit plating two runs in the
7th inning and ripped a base-knock in the 8th inning. New York had 15 hits
for the night.
The win was credited to Bickford(6-2) who went the whole way allowing 1 run.
The loss was charged to Russ Meyer(10-9). He was touched for 10 hits and 3
walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
The win by New York is a very welcome one as they have been struggling in

games. St. Louis continued their losing ways and their record is now 66-74.
