Billy Otterson had 3 base hits as the Brooklyn Grays bested the Cincinnati Red
Stockings in 11 innings 9 to 8 at Washington Park.

The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings.  Brooklyn ended up winning it
in the 11th inning.  After two were out Ed Greer laced a base-knock.
Otterson followed next and he slapped a base-hit.  Bob Clark then reached on
an error.  Adonis Terry was up next and he reached on an error giving
Brooklyn the victory and sending the 1,401 home-town fans home happy.  The
score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 6 times.  

John Harkins(8-13) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. The losing
pitcher was Billy Serad(10-8).  He got hit hard, allowing 14 hits and 3 walks
in 10 and 2/3 innings.
