WEB GEMS- Top 4th: Kip Selbach robbed Jack O'Connor of an extra base hit.

Third baseman Bobby Wallace had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the streaking Cleveland
Spiders beat the pathetic Washington Senators in 14 innings by a score of 13
to 8.

The game was deadlocked at 6 after nine full innings. Finally, Cleveland
pulled the game out in the 14th inning. The key offensive moment was
provided by Jesse Burkett who silenced Boundary Field as he stroked a single
bringing in two baserunners. Cleveland kept the scorekeepers busy in the
14th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 5 hits. Washington was out-hit by
Cleveland, 28 hits to 20.

The victory was credited to Cy Young(28-5) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. The losing pitcher was Bill Donovan(4-8) in relief.
