Rube Waddell racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts at Columbia Park
where the Boston-AL Americans beat the Philadelphia-AL Athletics by the score
of 4 to 1.

Waddell(13-13) gave Boston-AL a solid outing.  He didn't allow much, just 6
hits and 1 walk in 8 and 2/3 innings.  Boston-AL had 8 hits for the
afternoon.  

Chief Bender earned his 4th save.  Cy Young(22-11) absorbed the loss.
Waddell, when asked about his 11 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?
But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
