Mark Baldwin was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Dell Darling had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Chicago Pirates
defeated the league door-mat Buffalo Bisons by the score of 9 to 2 at South
Side Park.
Chicago took the lead for good in the 3rd inning plating one baserunner on 2
hits. That was all Baldwin(26-20) needed. Chicago banged out 15 hits on the
afternoon.
General Stafford(2-4) was the losing pitcher. He was unable to control the
Chicago offense and allowed 15 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings.
Charlie Comiskey was just happy to get a win, 'We've had such a bad streak of
games -- boy, it's great to get the monkey off our back. Now maybe we can
relax a little and play the kind of baseball of which we are capable.'
