Harry Howell completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Baltimore
Orioles outscored the Cincinnati Reds 6 to 5.
Baltimore came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning plating 2 runs
using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Bill Keister got things rolling
when he singled. Jimmy Sheckard stepped into the batter's box and he lifted
one out of the park for a two run home run. Cincinnati had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.
The victory went to Howell(11-9) who went the distance allowing 5 runs. The
losing pitcher was Pink Hawley(12-15). He allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 8
innings.
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Howell said.
