Lew Ritter had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Bill Hogg went 8 strong innings at
Huntington Ave Grnds as the Boston-AL Americans beat the St. Louis-AL Browns
3 to 1.

Boston-AL erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning plating 2 runs
on 3 base hits.  Tim Jordan kicked off the action when he drew a walk.  Jimmy
Sheckard stepped up to the plate and he slapped a base-hit.  Jim Delahanty
then laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Frank Isbell got his turn next, but he was
a strikeout victim.  Ritter stepped into the box and delivered a single
driving in two more baserunners.  Chief Bender was perfect in relief and
gained credit for his 9th save.  

The victory went to Hogg(9-8) who went 8 innings, allowing 1 run. Ed
Reulbach(21-11) suffered the loss in relief.  He surrendered 3 hits and 1
walk in 2 innings.
