Henry Boyle held Washington to 2 hits as the smoking-hot St. Louis Maroons
bested the Washington Nationals 8 to 3 at Capitol Grounds.

St. Louis erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning when they came
up with 6 runs on 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Boyle who
deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he smashed a two-run homer. St.
Louis finished with 11 hits in the victory.

Boyle(8-3) lasted until the end allowing 3 runs for the win. Bill Wise(18-20)
was hit with the loss. He allowed 8 runs and 11 hits in 9 innings.
