Left fielder Jesse Burkett ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Cy Young
pitched a complete game as the Cleveland Spiders topped the Baltimore Orioles
by a score of 12 to 7 at League Park.

The Cleveland fans enjoyed the offense provided by Burkett. He delivered a
one-base hit in the 1st inning, launched a three-run homer in the 3rd inning
and cracked a solo homerun in the 7th inning. Despite losing, Baltimore
out-hit Cleveland 14 to 10.

Young(32-11), allowing 7 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Kirtley
Baker(6-7) was the loser. He got hammered, allowing 8 hits and 4 walks in 2
innings.

'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Burkett said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
