Ben Stephens allowed just 8 hits as the Washington Senators bested the St.
Louis Browns in 14 innings 5 to 4 at Robison Field.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Washington came out the victor
in the 14th inning. Jim O'Rourke ripped a base-hit. After an out was
recorded, Pink Hawley then tossed a pitch that the catcher mis-handled. Joe
Sullivan then lined a single scoring the run. Washington rapped out 18 hits
for the afternoon.
Stephens(2-2) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Hawley(13-14)
was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around by Washington, allowing 17
hits and 3 walks in 13 and 1/3 innings.
