Al Maul allowed Gus Schmelz to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game and
Bill Hassamaer had 3 base hits and 6 RBI as the hapless Louisville Colonels
were badly beaten by the Washington Senators, 32 to 6.

Hassamaer had a big day with his bat. He tripled plating two runs in the 5th
inning, ripped a base-hit in the 7th inning and banged out a single bringing
home two baserunners in the 9th inning. Washington provided plenty of action
in the 3rd inning which saw them score 11 runs on 8 hits and the 7th inning
with 7 runs on 8 hits. The Washington offense man-handled the Louisville
pitching staff as they scored in 8 of the 9 innings.

Maul(12-12) was the winner allowing 6 runs for the game. Bert Inks(12-10) was
charged with the loss. He was knocked around by Washington, allowing 31 hits
and 10 walks in 9 innings.

'I felt great out there today' Hassamaer said. 'I was seeing the ball
perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.
