1,381 fans watched an exciting game at Sportsman'S Park.  The St. Louis Browns
topped the Chicago White Sox by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.

The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings.  St. Louis came out the victor
in the 11th inning.  Tom Jones led off and he hit a single.  Dick Padden came
to the plate and reached on an error.  Patsy Flaherty then bounced one in the
dirt for a wild pitch.  Charles Moran followed and he delivered a one-base
hit plating a run.  Mike Kahoe stepped into the box and drew a walk to load
the bases.  Charlie Hemphill did his part to keep things going and ripped a
base-hit making St. Louis victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd.  St. Louis banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.  

Cy Morgan(5-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Flaherty(5-3) absorbed the loss in relief.  With this win, St. Louis has a
55-73 record.  They have been 6-4 lately.  With the loss, Chicago has a
record of 4-6 lately, 88-44 overall.
