Jim Hegan hit a homerun and Don Newcombe mowed down 10 St. Louis batters at
Griffith Stadium as the Washington Nationals beat the St. Louis Cardinals in

Sid Hudson(1-0) allowed no runs in 4 innings, and picked up the victory. Monk
Dubiel(4-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He gave up 1 hit and no
