John Titus hit 3 doubles as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the league
door-mat Brooklyn Superbas by the score of 6 to 4 at Washington
Park.

Philadelphia had the winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 2
hits.  Red Dooin got things going when he reached on an error.  Ernie
Courtney followed and he tripled resulting in a run.  Fred Osborn was a
strikeout victim, unable to help out.  One out later, Titus stepped up to the
plate and he doubled scoring the final run of the inning.  Philadelphia and
Brooklyn each finished the afternoon with 8 hits.  

Lew Moren(14-13) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Moren was
helped out by Harry Coveleski who recorded his 10th save.  Jesse Whiting(0-4)
was charged with the loss in relief.  He was the victim of a defensive lapse
and did not allow an earned run in the game.
