Bob Ewing was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at Washington Park where the Cincinnati Reds beat the Brooklyn Superbas
in 12 innings by the score of 3 to 1.

The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings.  Cincinnati won the hard
fought contest in the 12th inning.  Mike Mowrey led off the inning for
Cincinnati when he laced a single.  Jim Holmes then uncorked a wild pitch.
Dode Paskert then doubled bringing in a run.  Admiral Schlei came up and he
doubled scoring the final run of the inning.  Cincinnati had 12 hits for the
afternoon.  

Ewing(11-13) got the victory, allowing 1 run for the game. The loss was
charged to Holmes(2-2) in relief.  He allowed 2 runs and 4 hits in 3 innings.
