Ed Reulbach shutout Brooklyn while allowing the Chicago bullpen a day-off as
the Chicago Cubs defeated the hapless Brooklyn Superbas by the score of 1 to
0 at Washington Park.

The game was won by Chicago when they scored a run in the top of the 9th
inning.  After an out was recorded, Solly Hofman tripled.  Jimmy Archer was
next and he hit a sacrifice fly scoring the run.  Brooklyn was retired
without difficulty in the bottom of the 9th.  

It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Reulbach(11-6). Cy Barger(8-19) was
tagged with the loss.  He allowed 1 run and 3 hits in 9 innings.
