Charlie Sweeney pitched a complete game at Capitol Grounds as the sizzling St.
Louis Maroons beat the Washington Nationals 6 to 5.

St. Louis came up with the deciding runs in the 8th inning scoring 4 runners
on 2 hits.  Washington out-hit St. Louis 12 to 8, but St. Louis ended up with
more runs.  

Sweeney(20-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 5 runs. Bill
Wise(18-21) was the loser.  'He gutted it out' Fred Dunlap said of Sweeney.
'I was very impressed by his tenacity.'
