WEB GEMS- Top 8th: Red Ehret robbed Bob Gilks of a base hit.

Catcher Jim Donahue had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Red Ehret tossed a complete game
as the Kansas City Cowboys won a dandy at Association Park over the Cleveland
Blues, 13 to 12.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning. Jumbo Davis lined a
base-hit. Bill Phillips got his chance to keep things going, but he went
down on strikes. Davis got a great jump and stole second easily. Jersey
Bakley then had one get away for a wild pitch. Donahue stepped into the box
and ripped a single resulting in an exciting win for Kansas City and a
raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. This was the kind of
game that many fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times.

Ehret(3-2) got the victory, allowing 12 runs for the game. Bakley(20-30) ended
up with the loss. He was unable to control the Kansas City offense and
allowed 14 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.
