Harry Stovey smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and John Clarkson allowed Frank
Selee to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Boston Beaneaters
topped the Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 4 to 2 at South End
Grounds.

Stovey helped send the fans home happy.  He clubbed a two-run home run in the
3rd inning and delivered a solo blast in the 5th inning.  Boston managed 11
hits in their victory.  

Clarkson(32-13) allowed 2 runs on the game. Mark Baldwin(16-27) was the losing
pitcher.  He was knocked around by Boston, allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 8
innings.
