Jesse Whiting didn't allow a hit until the 9th inning as the mighty Detroit
Tigers bested the St. Louis-AL Browns 4 to 0 at Sportsmans
Park.

Whiting(1-0) was virtually untouchable. He allowed just 1 hit and 3 walks in
9 innings. The right-handed Whiting had his no-hit bid broken up by Hans
Lobert who singled with nobody out in the 9th inning. Detroit banged out 7
hits on the afternoon.

Lew Richie(12-10) suffered the loss. 'Our guys just weren't seeing the ball
today.' Tim Singer said. 'Whiting simply dominated us.'
