Otto Hess was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete
game at West Side Grounds as the Boston Braves beat the Chicago Cubs 8 to
4.
Boston jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they scored 3
runs on 2 hits. Despite losing, Chicago out-hit Boston 11 to 8.
Hess(11-11), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Hippo
Vaughn(2-3) ended up with the loss. He struck out 12 batters in 9 innings
despite losing the game.
