Walt Leverenz allowed George Stovall to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and Del Pratt had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Shibe Park where the St.
Louis Browns beat the Philadelphia Athletics 8 to 1.

Leverenz(8-12) pitched a solid game.  He allowed just 6 hits and 5 walks in 9
innings.  St. Louis rapped out 12 hits for the afternoon.  

The loss was charged to Bob Shawkey(6-5).  St. Louis remained hot, improving
their record to 66-78.  They now have a record of 9-1 in recent days.  With
the loss Philadelphia now has a record of 82-57.
