WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: New York turns a triple play!

Charlie Mullen had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the New York Yankees defeated the
Chicago White Sox 12 to 9 at Comiskey Park.

New York put a big number on the board in the top of the 8th inning, which
proved too much for Chicago to overcome as they creamed Chicago blasting them
with 8 runs on 5 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Frank Truesdale
who disappointed the partisan crowd when he ripped a base-hit which was good
for two runs. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home town fans,
as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.

Marty McHale(6-16) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 2/3 of an inning.
Bill Lathrop(6-3) was hit with the loss in relief. He was hit hard and gave
up 5 hits and 3 walks in 2 innings.
