Eddie Waitkus had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Fenway Park as the Boston-AL Red
Sox pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Cleveland Indians by the count
of 3 to 2.

Boston-AL scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 2 hits. After two outs Johnny Groth began the rally when he ripped a
base-knock. Waitkus stepped into the batter's box and he doubled which
scored a run. Luis Aloma then bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch
making Boston-AL the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Bill Macdonald(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Aloma(5-6) took the loss in relief.

'Wow, that was fun!', Macdonald said following the game. 'Once in a while you
play a game that reminds you just why you got into this business to begin
with!'
