John Clarkson completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Chicago
White Stockings defeated the struggling Washington Nationals by the score of
10 to 5 at West Side Park.

Chicago jumped on top to stay in the 3rd inning plating one baserunner
utilizing 2 base hits.  Chicago finished with 15 hits in the victory.

Clarkson(35-15) allowed 5 runs on the game. Frank Gilmore(7-16) was charged
with the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 15 hits and 2
walks in 8 innings.
