TEAM RISP- Spiders: 11 for 25 White Stockings: 7 for 25

Center fielder Jimmy Ryan smacked 3 triples and had 3 RBI as the Chicago White
Stockings bested the Cleveland Spiders in 11 innings 17 to 16 at West Side
Park.

Both teams had scored 15 runs after nine full innings. Chicago came out the
victor in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Tom Burns keyed the
rally when he reached on an error. Duke Farrell stepped up next and he drew
a walk. Dell Darling then slapped a base-hit to load the bases. Ryan was up
next and he hit a deep fly resulting in a run. George Van Haltren came up to
bat and drew a walk to load the bases. Hugh Duffy kept things alive and drew
a walk resulting in a mighty exciting win for Chicago and the 4,309 home town
fans in attendance. Chicago provided plenty of action in the 6th inning with
5 runs on 3 hits. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 6
times.

Frank Dwyer(16-13) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Cinders
O'Brien(16-21) was charged with the loss. He allowed 17 hits and 12 walks in
10 and 2/3 innings.
