tossed a complete game at South End Grounds where the smoking-hot Boston
Beaneaters beat the slumping Philadelphia Phillies 7 to 4.

In the 2nd inning Boston scored 4 runs with the help of 5 hits. That scoring
would be all that was needed. Boston took care of Philadelphia with no
trouble in the 9th.

The victory went to Pittinger(20-19) who went the distance allowing 4 runs.
Ham Iburg(7-17) was the losing pitcher. He was unable to control the Boston
offense and allowed 15 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.

With the win, Boston continued their winning ways; their streak now stands at
8 games and counting.
