Stanage enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He delivered a single bringing in two baserunners in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 4th inning, delivered a base-hit plating two runs in the 7th inning and doubled which plated a run in the 8th inning. Washington had 18 hits for the afternoon. The win went to Steele(11-12) who allowed 5 runs in the game. Slim Sallee(9-8) was the losing pitcher in relief. Washington knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 6 runs in 5 innings. 'I was in my hotel room the other night, working on my swing and made some adjustments,' Stanage said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you out certain ways, you've got to make changes.'
