Red Ames completed the game without help from the bullpen as the incredible
New York Giants clobbered the outmatched Pittsburgh Pirates, 11 to 1.
New York promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring one runner.
After an out was recorded, Larry Doyle reached on an error. Fred Snodgrass
came to the plate and doubled scoring the run. New York had 15 hits for the
afternoon.
Ames(14-9) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Lefty
Leifield(22-12) was charged with the loss. New York knocked him around a
bit, as he gave up 11 runs in 9 innings.
