the Chicago-NL Cubs 3 to 1.

Tyler(7-14) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He allowed just 6 hits
and 3 walks in 8 innings. Chicago-NL threatened in the 9th but Pittsburgh
was able to put down the rally.

Mack Allison earned the save, his 3rd. Rube Benton(11-16) absorbed the loss.
'Everything felt great' Tyler said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could
throw it by everybody today.'
