The Cleveland Indians got by the St. Louis Cardinals in 11 innings at
Sportsman's Park.  The final score was 4 to 2.

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  Cleveland ended up
winning it in the 11th inning.  Eddie Joost led off and keyed the rally when
he drew a walk.  After an out was recorded, Jeff Heath stepped up to the
plate and he ripped a base-hit.  Tom Saffell then lashed a single resulting
in a run.  Saffell took second on the throw.  Roy Campanella was up next and
he would hit into a fielders choice scoring the final run of the inning.  St.
Louis out-hit Cleveland 15 to 7, but Cleveland ended up with more runs.

Fred Martin(5-5) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Mike Garcia recorded the save, his 4th.  Ray Scarborough(1-5) was charged
with the loss in relief.  He allowed 2 runs and 2 hits in 2 innings.
